Though in this case, they seem to be quarreling instead of arguing.
An argument does not need to include emotional changes, an argument is in which 2 or more people have different points of views, and wish to convert the others to his/ her side.
Quarreling is not as important in a sense.
Quarreling can be out of some 272 issues.
Quarreling also includes anger, and in real life, involves shouting, which argument may not.
